Upgrading My Skincare Regime with Depology

Since turning 30 a few years ago skincare is something I have really tried to focus more on. I hold my hands up and admit this is something I should have definitely started in my 20s but as they say "better late than never". But when it comes to skincare there is no real "one size fits all" and people are often looking to get different things from their skincare depending on a range of factors including age, skin type, and the results they are looking to achieve. However, one popular reason people look to get into a good skincare regime is to approve the appearance of their skin overall and to reduce the signs of wrinkles and this is definitely something I can relate to. 

Over the years skincare has evolved but one common thing lots of skincare users are all trying to do is fight the signs of aging and to have their skin feeling soft and youthful and I am definitely one of those people! So when I was invited to try out a new products from Depology skincare, which claims to provide noticeable wrinkle-reducing and preventative benefits I couldn't wait to give it a try. 

Following on from the success of another of their serums (Matrixyl® 3000 Collagen Boosting Serum) Depology have produced yet another winning formula with its Depology Peptide Complex 10% Serum formulated with Argireline™ peptide which as I mentioned above is said to help reduce the signs of wrinkles whilst providing preventative benefits for the future too. 

What Did I Think?

I have been giving the Peptide Complex Anti-Wrinkle Serum a try for a couple of weeks now and I have to say it's a lovely product to use. It has probably not been long enough for me to see any real "anti-wrinkle" benefits yet (although I will update this post in a few months with an update) but I would like to say I am already a huge fan of the serum. It was super easy to slot into my quick morning and evening skincare routines, I simply apply a few drops to dry skin after my toner and leave for a few minutes to fully absorb into my skin. The Peptide complex serum doesn't really have any strong scent which I personally like and it absorbs easily and quickly into the skin, leaving it soft and smooth without any stickiness, pulling, or drying to be seen (something I have found with other serums). 

The Peptide Complex serum is especially great for those lines around the eyes and the "frowning line" we often get between our brows (can I blame my children for this). But I must say that even after a short time of use, the line between my brows seems to have softened and I have high hopes for more continued use!

What is Argireline™ peptide and how does it work? 

Argireline™ peptide, which is also known as acetyl hexapeptide-3 or acetyl hexapeptide-8, is a synthetic six-amino acid peptide. It is often used in anti-aging skin care products to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and that's exactly what it is used for in this product too. Peptides themselves are short sequences of amino acids that serve as the foundation for proteins such as collagen and elastin, making them crucial for healthy, young skin. 

It is actually one of the first peptides with a specific impact on expression lines/wrinkles (something I worry about, especially since having kids!). Argireline™ peptide has some other benefits too including helping your skin to retain moisture, promoting cell turnover and best of all is relatively inexpensive in comparison.
