Sustainable Gemstone Jewellery from CARAT* London - Review

 **Advertisement Feature**

There is something about a beautiful piece of jewellery that can totally transform not only an outfit but the way you feel too. A beautifully simple bracelet or a stunning statement necklace can help take an outfit from casual or "daytime" to elegant and "evening wear" which is why I believe everyone should have a few special pieces for all of the reasons above. So when the team over at CARAT* London reached out and asked if I would like to review one of their beautiful pieces I was more than happy to do so.

CARAT* London is a jewellers with a twist though since they have a simple mission and that is to create beautiful fine and fashion jewellery but made exclusively with the finest alternatives to mined diamonds. With over 100 points of sale across the world including in leading department stores such as Lane Crawford and Selfridges & Co, as well as an ever growing celebrity fan base, it is clear people love the idea of a kinder, more gentle approach to beautiful jewellery.

Now you may be thinking how, or that you would be able to tell they aren't "the real thing" but honestly you can't! These more sustainable gemstones are the result of 18+ years of hard work in a lab to create something as close to the mined version as possible and to the untrained eye, I honestly believe they look just like the real thing.

As I mentioned above CARAT* London very kindly offered to send me one of their beautiful necklaces to try for myself and after much deliberation (there are so many beautiful pieces available on the CARAT* London website!) I chose the Cosmo necklace (rrp £249) from the Stella collection. The Cosmo necklace is a pre-layered necklace made from sterling silver with a white gold finish. It features a Stella star pendant shorter necklace, paired with a longer chain that is highlighted with a single Marquise shaped drop gemstone.

I chose this necklace because I really liked the layered effect and felt the sparkle was pretty but not too much, therefore making this necklace perfect for both day and night or adding a touch of sparkle to any outfit for any occasion.

The Cosmo necklace is also adjustable in length with the shortest wearable length at 25cm and the longest wearable length at 46cm. When worn at the shortest length the necklace creates a beautiful cascading chain feature on the back which would be perfect for those wearing a backless dress or top. Of course the longer you have the necklace at the front, the shorter this will be at the back.

The necklace itself feels delicate and obviously needs to be handled with care (as well as stored correctly when not in use). But the delicate chain against the sparkle of the gemstones is such a beautiful combination and I absolutely love the star pendant on this piece which is a real eye catcher as it sparkles against the skin or fabric.

I have to admit I wasn't sure what to expect when I received my necklace but I have been blown away by the quality. Even the packaging was beautifully presented and you gave you a real sense of the quality of the product inside. The necklace was presented inside a beautiful ivory box, wrapped in a CARAT* London ribbon making the whole experience and feel of the product enjoyable and special.

If you are looking for a more sustainable way to get your sparkle, or you are just a fan of beautiful jewellery, I can highly recommend CARAT* London. Whether its something subtle for every day wear, a statement piece or even jewellery for a special occasion such as a wedding, they have something to suit.
