Easter Review and Giveaway with Cuckoo Clocks

 **Advertisement Feature**

The last year has been a bit of a whirlwind hasn't it? I can't seem to keep track of the weeks or months and I can't believe Easter is just around the corner! It is hard to miss though, with the shops filled to the brim with Easter eggs, Easter bonnets and crafts and of course lots of delicious Easter treats such as Easter biscuits.

But aside from chocolate eggs and Easter bonnets there are actually many different Easter traditions around the world (many of which actually originated in Germany) and one beautiful tradition that has come from Germany are the beautiful Erzgebirge wood Easter Bunny figurines and ornaments.

When the silver and tin mines of the Erzgebirge, Germany’s Ore Mountain Region of Saxony, began to dry up in the late 1700s, village miners were at a loss to survive. Because lumber was plentiful, they turned to woodcarving and eventually founded a toymaking and national Christmas tradition. This later led onto the making of the Easter Bunny figurines too.

The folklore art of Ore Mountain in Germany are wooden crafts that make a great collector’s item to be passed down between generations, just like Black Forest cuckoo clocks. These beautifully handcrafted figurines always prove popular at places such as Christmas markets and in souvenir shops around Germany, however they are now becoming more and more popular across the world. All of the figurines and ornaments are handcrafted using the same craftsmanship that miners used in the 18th century in the Saxony region of Germany, where these wood crafts were first produced.

The Easter bunny figures range includes over 50 bunnies showing scenes of everyday life like gardening, painting, fishing, and spending time with family. Erzgebirge Easter decorations will bring joy to the whole family during the special holiday and are perfect to bring out year after year to bring a little Easter charm to your home.

I don't know about you but when I was little one of my favourite things to do was to look at all of the beautiful ornaments that my nan used to have. Each one had a little story behind it and I these Easter bunnies remind me of exactly that! Each figure lovingly made with so much detail and charm they are great for those who wish to collect the whole range or who just wish to have a few around the home.

  1. My mum is queen of Easter ornaments! She has an Easter tree and all sorts around the house. She's given me some stuff for my own this year :) If I won I'd have to give mum the prize, I think she'd love the Easter bunny with the wheelbarrow!
