** Review **
Despite there being a five year age gap between James and Evelyn, if there is one thing they can agree on its their love of animals! So you can imagine how excited they both were when we were kindly sent our very own Scruff-a-luvs Blossom Bunnies to love and care for.
Scruff-a-luvs Blossom Bunnies are unloved and abandoned bunnies who need your help to become fluffy and loved again. Inside each box you will find your "scruffy" bunny, adoption certificate, comb and an accessory. Everything you need to take your bunny from scruffy to fluffy with a bit of TLC.
The first thing James and Evelyn noticed was that our bunny didn't look like a bunny at all, in fact it looked more like a ball! That's because you will need to give your bunny a bath to see it transform from a scruffy ball in a cuddly bunny. We received the adorable pale pink Posie bunny, there are three to find including Posie (Pink bunny), Lemon Drizzle (yellow bunny) and Peppermint (blue bunny).
To start transforming your bunny you will need a good size tub of water, Evelyn opted to use her baby bath which worked out to be great size. I then half filled it with warm water and we placed our bunny inside. As soon as your bunny hits the water and you swish it around a little bit you will start notice your bunny unfolding and starting to look more like a cute bunny.
To make sure your bunny is as fluffy as possible we used a little bit of baby shampoo to wash it, I changed the water twice to ensure all of the shampoo was out before we finished washing bunny. You will then need to give the bunny a good squeeze to ensure any excess water is removed. James then towel dried the bunny and I gave him a quick dry with the hair drier to make sure our bunny was properly dry and super fluffy! I have to say that getting our bunny completely dry was quite tricky, especially when you have impatient kids who can't wait to get their hands on their new bunny friend. If you have nice weather it may be worth popping your bunny on the washing line to dry or even on a cool setting in the tumble drier.
Once we finally got our bunny dry it was time to fluff it up! The Scruff-a-luvs Blossom Bunnies set comes with its own comb which the kids loved using the fluff up their bunny, I did find though that using a "normal" adult brush did seem to fluff up our bunny a bit more than the comb provided as the fur does get quite tangled with washing/drying.
Once dry and fluffy we could really see just how cute our Scruff-a-luvs bunny really was. With its super fluffy pink fur and we loved the added little detail of the inside of ours bunnies ears being a sweet floral pattern too.
Our bunny has huge glistening blue eyes and a very sweet pink heart shaped nose, Evelyn has been absolutely besotted with her bunny from the moment it came out of the water. Its been on a trip to school where she told her teacher how she had rescued the bunny, its been to watch her swim, to the park and I am sure it will be joining us on many more adventures too.
Both James and Evelyn absolutely loved the idea of "rescuing" the bunny and had so much fun over the whole process of transforming the bunny from scruffy to fluffy to very best friend.
Over all the Scruff-a-luvs blossom bunnies set was a big hit with both James and Evelyn. The whole process (excluding drying as this varies depending on how you dry your bunny) took around 25 minutes and is really interactive and much more fun than just pulling your new toy from a box. The bunny itself is a great size and perfect for bringing along on adventures as it fits nicely in the hand or in a backpack.
The Blossom bunnies set is a great way to introduce a child to caring for a pet and looking after a bunny and would be a great toy to introduce your child to having a pet bunny if you are thinking or getting one as a family pet too!
