Unless you have been living under a rock you will almost definitely have heard the Baby Shark song! Its a hit with kids everyone, and pretty catchy even for us adults too. You can't seem to go to a kids party, holiday clubhouse or even watch TV without hearing it (I am pretty sure it was even in the music charts at one point!).
As you can imagine my kids are huge fans and immediately jump to their feet to take part in the actions to the song (shhh don't tell anyone but my husband won a dancing competition at a kids party last week to the baby shark song too!). So you can imagine how excited, especially Evelyn was to hear there was a range of plush soft toys to go along with the Baby Shark song that sing along too.
We received two items for our review, the large baby shark singing plush and the stackable, collectible plush signing cube. Both the plush toy and the plush cube are available as Mummy Shark, Daddy Shark and of course Baby Shark.
The large Baby Shark plush measures in at around 25cm in size and feels really well made. Baby Shark feels really soft and huggable, he has a generous amount of stuffing inside and feels sturdy and strong. It is perfect for ages 2+ and is priced at around £15.00 which I felt was a fair price. Baby Shark takes two 1.5V batteries which are included so your shark is ready to go as soon as he is out of the packaging.
When you press the tummy Baby Shark will play a verse of the Baby Shark song, press the tummy again and it will stop, although it does stop itself after the one verse. Evelyn is four and was able to operate the turning on and off of the song herself but I do think slightly younger children may struggle as you have to squeeze the shark's tummy quite hard.
The Baby Shark plush cubs are much smaller and perfect for smaller hands. Similar to the larger plush shown above the plush cubes play a short verse of the song with one squeeze and stop again with another squeeze. As these are smaller they seemed easier to activate the song playing and so again would be perfect for smaller hands to use.
The cubes are available in mummy, daddy and baby shark designs and are stackable so you can create a Baby Shark family tower! These are also recommended for ages 2 + and priced at just £7 per cube.
Both toys have been a big hit in our house, especially with Evelyn who likes to set off the catch tune from the plush toys at any chance she gets, we have all become experts in the dance moves! They feel really well made and great quality, they have been squeezed, squished, hugged and carried for a few weeks now and still look as good as new which is always a great sign when it comes to kids toys in our house.
The Baby Shark plush toys from WowWee are available from The Entertainer and other toys stores as well as online via Amazon.
Do your kids (or you!) love dancing around to Baby Shark too?
xXx
