“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
This week has been pretty uneventful and I for one have been glad! The kids have been a little feral getting back into the school routine after slipping out of the routine over Christmas. So going back to getting up at 7am and having a full day at school was a bit of a shock I think. Not helped of course by being hit with the back to school bugs which saw us all come down with various colds and coughs at the end of the week.
Having said that now we are all back at work and school Christmas seems like a distant memory rather than the mere few weeks ago that it really was. This weekend we decided we would just chill out, enjoy some time in our pjs and playing the board games the kids got from Father Christmas.
Our photos this week are from Sunday when we opted to go out for a meal since we had found a money of voucher (and mummy couldn't be bothered to cook!). The kids love going out to eat, they call it a "going out meal" and love being all grown up and ordering their own food from the menu. Of course the pudding was the highlight, as always!
I asked the kids what their favourite part of the week was and James declared it was starting ukulele lessons in school (his whole year group are learning how to play ready for a spring concert!). He has now been asking me for his own ukulele to take in and we actually found some pretty fun ones that were really inexpensive online so I may just have to surprise him with one.
Evelyn declared her favourite part was joining the swim club like her big brother. Over the holidays she had some one to one lessons with one of the swimming teachers who then suggested she was get on better in the "learn to swim" group of the swim club rather than the larger leisure centre lessons. Evelyn was delighted and can't wait to pick up her swim hat next week.
I wonder what next week will bring?
