My Dream Horse with Petplan Equine

** Advertisement Feature **

Children's imaginations are definitely something special right? I love it when Evelyn and James put pen to paper and I get to see some of their imagination come to life through their drawings. So you can imagine both mine and Evelyn's excitement when she was offered the chance to really make her drawings come to life thanks to Petplan, the only limit was her imagination!

As part of their campaign to help promote their fantastic Petplan Equine Horse Insurance Policies, Petplan gave Evelyn the chance to draw the horse of her dreams which they would they bring to life in the form of a soft toy. Of course Evelyn was super excited and with a little help from mummy (Evelyn has only just turned 4 so found the drawing a little tricky so she told me exactly what she wanted and mummy drew the outline before she coloured it all in.) We had her dream horse on paper and sent it off to Petplan to bring it to life.

A few weeks later a silky red bag arrived in the post and the neighbours must have thought we had won the lottery judging my the screams of delight Evelyn let out at catching the first glimpse of her brand new horsey companion..... Meet Blueberry!

I love how all of the little details are there just like in her drawing. From the super long eyelashes and multi coloured mane to the flowers and hearts all over her body. Its super soft and fleecy too, perfect for snuggling up too which Evelyn has done plenty of. She hasn't let "Blueberry" out of her sight since she arrived including taking her to bed, school and insisting I brought her along to watch Evelyn at swim club.

This is such a great idea and I think its something all kids should get the chance to do, it brought Evelyn so much happiness and pride to see her drawings come to life. Of course now she has her own soft toy horse she has started asking about riding a real life horse (I should have known this would
happen!). So we have been exploring some riding lessons for her to maybe start after Christmas!

If you have a pet of any kind you will probably have experienced first hand a trip to the vet and know just how quickly a vet bill can add up. So you can imagine just how vet bills and expenses could quickly add up for a big animal like a horse! From the start, Petplan have understood that horse owners have specific needs when it comes to finding the right insurance policy, and have become one of only a few equine insurance providers to offer genuine ‘lifetime’ policies. In addition to their market leading Covered for Life® policies, they also have a 12-month policy that is designed to suit all needs.

Since Petplan's inception in 1976, their priority has been to keep the nation's horses healthy. However Petplan also works with more animal rehoming charities than any other pet insurance provider and are committed to supporting charities and the vital work they do in any way we can.

They work with more than 1,200 charities throughout the UK and in 1994, they formed the Petplan Charitable Trust which has so far raised more than £7million towards a better, healthier world for animals.

Do you have any pets? Have you checked out Petplan for insurance?

  5. I don't have any pets but I would love to. The cost involved with keeping them healthy and paying for insurance is one of the things holding me back.
