However I'm always put off by the size of a BBQ and how we will store it when we aren't using it. So every summer we end up using the little disposable ones but not this year thanks to Domu!
Domu is a website that combines simple shopping with great kitchen, garden and homeware products with affordable prices and they have so many great products! Domu very kindly sent us a VonHaus 2 in 1 fire pit and BBQ to try out and it has been exactly what we have been looking for!
The VonHaus 2 in 1 fire pit and BBQ is the perfect solution if like us you have a small garden or if your looking for a BBQ you can take camping or to the beach etc. It has a robust but lightweight solid steel frame with 4 legs that fold for easy storage. It even comes with a free carry bag to store it in when not is use or when traveling.
There is no real construction required for this fab BBQ/fire pit which makes it even better as it can be set up in under a minute and you are ready to go! It comes with a removable enamel plated grill for the BBQ and then a mesh domed lid for when it is being used as a fire pit. The kids were so excited to finally have a "proper" BBQ and loved that it was quite low to the ground so they could see everything cooking. Don't be fooled by the size of this BBQ though as it actually has a pretty big cooking area! We managed to fit 4 large burgers and 6 sausages on the grill and still had room to spare.
It was so quick and easy to clean after our BBQ and after empty the coal we gave it a quick wipe out with soapy warm water and cleaned the grills and it looked as good as new, ready to use again.
I had never really thought about a fire pit before but now we have tried this one out I can't believe we didn't have one before. Its amazing and lovely to be able to stay out in the garden enjoying a summer evening even after the temperature drops a little. I couldn't believe how much heat comes from this fire pit. The kids loved it for another reason though.... making smores! Its the perfect height for little ones and the mesh lid and spark guard make it safe for them to use (supervised of course).
We honestly cannot fault the VonHaus 2 in 1 fire pit and BBQ. It has been the perfect solution to having a small garden and its great to know we can take it with us on holiday and it won't take up much room. Its the perfect size for us as a family of 4 and the added bonus of it converting to a fire pit gets an even bigger thumbs up from us. The dimensions are 55cm (d) × 40.5cm (h). Weight: 3.8kg and its priced at just £29.99 we think its a must have this summer!
